The Opportunity:
As a mechanical engineer on our team, you have the chance to provide research and technical support to senior-level DoD representatives responsible for supporting new and modified naval weapons and ordnance systems for the United States Navy and Joint Department of Defense Services.
You'll work in a dynamic team environment of client and contract staff to leverage mechanical engineering experience in conducting advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations on various mechanical components and systems. You will build, develop, validate, and implement simulation models and algorithms. You will analyze and interpret simulation results to support design decisions and identify areas for improvement. You'll assess post-process results to determine if products meet client requirements.

You Have:
5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
Experience using PTC Creo, Simulia Solidworks, or Simulia ABAQUS Suite
Experience creating or modifying CAD 3D models and performing engineering analyses based on modeling data obtained
Experience with pre and post processing of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models and data processing
Ability to analyze, research, assess, and organize technical data into cohesive and clear technical reports and presentations
Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Nice If You Have:
Experience performing Static Analyses, including Hydrostatic, Dynamic Analysis, Thermal Analysis, Buckling Analysis, Modal Analysis, Coupled Structural and Thermal Analysis
Experience with optimization methodology and tools
Experience with drafting and exercising sub-routines in computer language for use with commercial software
Knowledge of Ordnance Pamphlets (OPs), Military Standards (MIL STDs), Allied Publications, including AOPs, AASTPs, or AECTPs, commercial standards, and specifications related to ordnance and energetic systems
Possession of excellent verbal and written communications skills
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
