Aircraft Test Engineer

The Challenge:

When the U.S. Air Force acquires a new aircraft or makes significant hardware or software changes for their aircraft systems, testing is required, and it’s expected to be intuitive and run smoothly. Thus, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly conduct testing to ensure a systematic, well documented test and test data process is provided to our clients. 

As a test engineer, you will work with fellow testers, hardware and software developers, aircraft operational and maintenance personnel, Air Force System Program Offices, and engineers. You’ll develop test plans, test procedures, and test methods or criteria based on end-user requirements. You’ll execute the adopted test scenarios and generate test data to determine software and hardware performance within an operational environment, to include documenting and communicating results to meet system-to-system compliance.

You Have:

  • Experience with systems testing or experimentations
  • Ability to perform work unsupervised, operate test equipment, and troubleshoot test equipment and system faults
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with flight line operations, logistics in shipping of equipment to and from CONUS and OCONUS locations, as well as test data processing and analysis
  • Knowledge of aircraft electronics and 1553 data bus
  • Top Secret clearance

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
