Cybersecurity Engineer

As a Cybersecurity Engineer on our team, you’ll be trusted to help customers solve problems using the latest cyber tools like Kali Linux, Metasploit, Nessus, and Nmap. Using cyber threat analysis and reporting on information from both internal and external sources, you’ll work with multiple stakeholders to evaluate risk and make meaningful recommendations. You’ll help monitor security environments, identify security gaps through the eyes of an adversary, and implement the cybersecurity plan to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of weapon systems. You’ll impact the Air Force by appropriately applying gathered cyber threat intelligence to defending the enterprise network.

You Have: 

  • 4+ years of experience leading cybersecurity testing events, including configuration analysis, vulnerability assessments, or penetration testing
  • Experience with Elastic Stack components, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana, to perform in-depth analysis of security logs
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms
  • Experience using a ticketing system
  • Experience with Microsoft and Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of incident response processes, including detection, triage, incident analysis, remediation, and reporting
  • Knowledge of common enterprise security devices and tools
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in an IS Technology or CS field
  • DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II Certification such as Security+ Certification

Nice If You Have:  

  • 4+ years of experience with intelligence network communications or systems administration
  • Experience with Cyber tools, including Kali Linux, Metasploit, Nessus, or Nmap
  • Knowledge of cyber threats, attack vectors, and common adversary techniques, as well as MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • Knowledge of security best practices and standards, including NIST, ISO, and SOC operations
  • Knowledge of network security and incident response procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as part of 24/7 operations
  • Possession of strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possession of strong communication and collaboration skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
