Technical Writer and Editor

Key Role:

Provide technical writing support, to include creating and preparing programmatic and engineering documentation for the client from initial draft through finalization for delivery. Write or edit technical manuals and reports, with a primary focus on drafting new documentation. Interview subject matter experts, conduct research, and analyze technical information to distill into clear and concise language. Leverage knowledge of technical writing best practices and DoD guidance to produce comprehensive and accurate documentation. Contribute to solutions to a variety of challenges of moderate scope and complexity. Use AI to research, create, curate, and verify technical, engineering content, in conjunction with writing and editing skills, experience, and natural talent to identify AI generated content. Review documents and identify content that requires verification, use AI to generate content, facilitate verification of AI-generated content, and transform the content. Use AI as an optimization tool, leveraging the technology to enhance technical documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in technical writing and producing technical documentation

  • Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with using AI technology and tools to create written content

  • Ability to create document templates

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with military standards and specifications governing the preparation of technical documentation

  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in English or Communications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,100.00 to $119,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
