Job Description
Key Role:
Supports the research and development of robotic and unmanned systems across multiple operational domains and mission areas. Functions at the intersection of software and hardware to design, build, test, and demonstrate new robotic capabilities that address complex client problems in sensing, autonomy, and human interaction. Applies advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Works without considerable direction. Mentors and may supervise team members.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience developing autonomous systems using robotics and autonomous middleware, such as ROS/ROS2
5+ years of experience developing embedded or backend software applications using C/C++
2+ years of experience leading technical teams, including solutioning, planning and scheduling, task delegation and review, and participation in project management reviews
Experience developing technical whitepapers and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP)
Experience conducting evaluations or research related to autonomy and autonomous systems and creating analysis reports
Ability to provide algorithms and software support for mobile robot sensing, perception, localization, navigation, and behaviors in aerial or ground domains
Ability to effectively communicate complex technical topics to a variety of audiences in written and verbal formats
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with Docker image development and container deployment
Experience with Git-based version control and branch or tag strategies
Knowledge of military strategy, operations, and tactics
Ability to provide software maintenance and deployment, including version control, CI/CD, packaging, containerization, and documentation
Ability to professionally interact with clients to know their needs, recommend courses of action, and present or demonstrate results
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Robotics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
