Computer System Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a systems engineer on our team, you have the chance to be responsible for maintaining mission essential systems while providing direct support to end users in an operational environment to administer, develop, test, and demonstrate remote Cloud based applications via Helm Charts. Your technical expertise will be vital as you evaluate and modernize client cloud systems and applications. You’ll develop your skills in LINUX while gaining experience in virtual database environments. Grow your skills by maintaining and improving database functions across remote servers to create more efficient and accelerated data access for client operations. Deliver to Kubernetes as new applications code is delivered and provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance. You Have: 

  • 2+ years of experience with AWS Cloud server techniques including templates, kick starting, and configuration management systems
  • 2+ years of experience with System Administration with Windows, IIS, and Linux maintenance of remote servers.
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL Server database management, including Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
  • 2+ years of experience working with security concepts, including firewalls, encryption, identity management, and hardening
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to obtain a Security+ certification within 30 days of start date

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience interacting and collaborating with warfighters on a daily basis
  • Experience with databases or an IT related field
  • Experience with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
  • Ability to collect customer requirements and train users
  • Ability to display a willingness to work occasional long hour days and weekends when necessary
  • Ability to learn new technologies to share and build knowledge with the teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
