ATO Support Analyst

The Opportunity:

As an Authority to Operate (ATO) Support Analyst, you will work on a team supporting the Veterans Affairs (VA) ISOs and ISSOs to discover and mitigate cybersecurity risks, understand, and apply system ATO authorization policies, support requests for information on VA’s ATO best practices, guidance on ATO sustainment activities for RMF steps 0-6, and leverage security authorization requirements expertise to assist with ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for information systems. You'll collaborate closely with system owners, system stewards, and facility ISSO/ISSMs or Area Managers to execute system authorization duties.

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience with supporting system ATO requirements, processes and reviewing artifacts, control implementation details, and POAMs
  • Experience managing multiple information systems ATO packages such as 1-5 systems, simultaneously
  • Experience with Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM)
  • Experience with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP 800-53 Rev4 or Rev5 security controls, a Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) security documentation tool, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and security compliance processes
  • Knowledge of Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM) criteria
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, analyze authorization documents and associated artifacts against authorization requirements to identify gaps, establish a schedule to address outstanding authorization requirements, and coordinate directly with system team stakeholders
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • HS diploma or GED and 13+ years of experience with IT, or Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, Mathematics, or Engineering and 5+ years of experience with IT 

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with managing complex system records in the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) tool
  • Experience with the VA 
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
