Automation Tester

Key Role:

Work directly with the software development team to validate, document, test, and deploy data pipelines, including ingestion, quality, or cleaning. Build test plans with test cases based on user stories by generating data and executing the test cases on data systems, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team. Apply your advanced consulting skills with extensive technical expertise while developing innovative solutions to complex problems while working without considerable direction. Lead quality assurance processes and follow-up to ensure that all information system products and services meet standards and requirements. Use automation tools and techniques to achieve objectives. Identify and prevent defects in all things data, working closely with data engineers, system engineers, and DevOps engineers in the identification and correction of any defects found.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a quality assurance engineer in a professional work environment
  • 5+ years of experience with the creation of test cases, test suites, requirements matrices, and end-of-test reports
  • 5+ years of experience with developing automated application test scripts using industry tools
  • 1+ year of experience with data pipeline QA
  • Experience with contributing to the delivery of testing artifacts, including automated testing plans, performance test plans, test reports, UAT plans, and traceability matrices
  • Experience with analyzing and documenting software test results
  • Experience with designing, implementing, tailoring, and documenting automated test frameworks used on testing projects
  • Experience with software development using languages, including Python
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements 
  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:  

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps and automation tools
  • Ability to set testing schedules and provide progress or status to project management and client stakeholders
  • Ability to work on a scrum team utilizing Agile practices
  • Ability to manage discrepancies identified during testing and collaborate with the software development team to resolve software bugs
  • Automated Test Tool Certifications
  • Foundation or Advanced Tester Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
