Benefits Specialist, Senior Manager

Key Role:

Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in the benefits field. Develops and administers benefits programs such as group insurance and retirement. Consults with and advises employees on eligibility and provisions and other matters related to benefits. Serves as liaison between employees and insurance carriers. Maintains benefits records and conducts research. Provides leadership for lower-level employees. Assists in the design, development, and administration of benefits programs including assisting with benefits strategies, policies, vendor management, financial process flows, and presenting recommendations. Collaborates with Operations, Legal, Payroll, Finance and other departments to address benefit related concerns, projects and initiatives. Maintains current knowledge of policies, rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to labor relations and ensures company compliance. Conducts complex analysis and research on benefit programs processes, vendor and payroll issues, trends, utilization, tax implications, cost and budget and makes recommendations based on analysis and research. Creates detailed presentations outlining options and recommendations, and supports acquisition due diligence and integration. Collaborates and integrates with global benefit, wellbeing and compensation program strategies and design. Serves as an organization spokesperson on specialized projects or programs, change management initiatives, and process enhancements with the service center. Acts as leader on large programs projects that affect the organizations long-term goals and objectives. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with benefits administration

  • Experience with finance

  • Experience with HRIS Systems including Workday and Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, Federal and State leave legislation, FMLA, and compliance reporting requirements

  • Ability to be collaborative, anticipate customer needs, and be flexible to change

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of finance or accounting

  • Ability solve unusually complex problems 

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and implement multiple projects simultaneously

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentations

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $122,200.00 to $227,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
