Enterprise Data Architect

The Opportunity:  

As an Enterprise Data Architect, you will play a key role in supporting our expanding data management initiative across the enterprise, reporting to the Chief Data Officer. The ideal candidate must have familiarity with both traditional data technologies, including relational databases or data warehouse as well as modern technologies, including data lakehouse, data fabric, or data mesh to support the execution of a data management strategy. 

You must also have the ability to communicate well, collaborate within the team and with stakeholders across the enterprise, and disseminate technical information as appropriate in support of Booz Allen Hamilton's critical business, go to market, and operational infrastructure needs. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design data solutions that align with our data management initiative.
  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to capture business concepts, relationships, and technical implementations.
  • Develop and recommend data architecture components in support of data catalogs, data governance, data pipelines and storage.
  • Support structured data, including database and file-based data management strategies, to enable effective application of retention policies and reduce sprawl of data.
  • Leverage data modeling techniques to design semantic and ontological models that enhance data understanding and alignment with business concepts.
  • Work closely with data stewards, data analysts, and other teams to ensure data models support current and future data management needs.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to implement data models, ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Contribute and maintain a core set of enterprise data architecture models and roadmaps in alignment with core business capabilities, business processes and IT roadmap.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data modeling and data management techniques.

You Have:   

  • 7+ years of experience as a Data Architect role, including enterprise data architecting
  • Experience with core data services, including maintaining data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, relational and dimensional modeling, data quality, and master data management
  • Excellent data management and data governance skills and
  • Experience with aligning data architectures that will define data as an asset
  • Experience with data modeling tools and techniques, inclduing ER/Studio or PowerDesigner
  • Knowledge of modern data architecture
  • Knowledge of data management principles, best practices, and industry standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutions that meet business needs.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and stay current with industry trends
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Management

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
