Facility Metering Project Engineer, Mid

Key Role:  

Conduct site visits and assessments at client facilities to better understand energy infrastructure and energy loads, specifically to locate and classify various utility meter types, including electric, gas, water, or steam. Participate in initial planning, on-site visit logistics, and post-survey closeout reporting functions with project team members. Travel to multiple project sites domestically or nationwide to conduct facility energy assessments. Apply subject matter knowledge of building systems to the review of facility plans and drawings, asset inventories, and technical specifications to determine the operating status of existing energy meters. Provide recommendations for meter repairs and replacements as well as identify suitable locations for the installation of new meters or submeters per client requests or project team recommendations.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Experience with building design and trade disciplines involving the management of critical building systems

  • Experience with conducting site visits and assessments at client facilities

  • Experience with assessing conditions of energy infrastructure, including metering systems, such as age, quality, quantity, and vulnerability

  • Experience with collaborating with customers, trade contractors, building inspectors, and building service providers

  • Experience with conducting building energy audits or facility condition assessments

  • Experience with using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of environmental, sustainability, and energy efficiency regulations, executive orders, and consensus standards

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

 

Additional Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience in building design, construction management, or sustainability and energy engineering

  • Experience in building sciences

  • Experience working with diverse project types and technologies

  • Experience with Federal government agencies, including EPA, VA, or DoD

  • Experience in healthcare environments

  • Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Possession of excellent problem-solving and project skills

  • LEED Green Associate or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certifications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
