Government Contracts and Compliance Counsel

As a member of our Government Contracts practice area, you’ll help propel our forward-thinking and purpose-driven team as we advance our clients’ missions. You’ll serve as a government contracts attorney and leverage experience with federal procurement transactions as part of a broader legal department. You’ll perform as a member of an internal legal team, working with a team of government contracts attorneys who support the federal business across civil, defense, and intelligence markets. You’ll work on a wide range of complex issues at the prime and subcontract levels and provide risk reviews and insights to lead account attorneys. You’ll anticipate business needs and develop practical solutions with agility and action. You’ll establish trusted partnerships across the firm and collaborate with fellow members of the Legal, Ethics, and Compliance team to protect and advance the firm, while navigating the complex, multifaceted, and often novel legal and compliance risks we face today. You Have:

·       4+ years of experience with practicing law in a law firm, corporate or government environment

·       Experience with government contracts law, including FAR, DFARS, federal procurement statutes and regulations, and bid protest jurisprudence

·       Experience in leading or assisting with prime contract and subcontract negotiations, pre-award support, including RFP reviews, and post-award counseling

·       Experience with counseling on compliance matters in areas, including gifts and business courtesies, anti-kickback, post-government employment restrictions, organizational and personal conflicts of interest, and competition and antitrust

·       Experience with partnering closely with business leaders to develop comprehensive solutions to problems

·       Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to evaluate risks and root causes and to aid in designing and implementing practical mitigation strategies or action plans

·       Ability to listen actively, ensure that the right questions are being asked and answered, and translate legalese or regulations into succinct, clear, and workable business solutions

·       Ability to execute against clear goals, priorities, and success metrics and KPIs and manage against program plans

·       J.D. degree

·       Active bar admission with any U.S. state bar

Nice If You Have:

·       Experience with commercial contract negotiation, including federal or non-federal

·       Experience with government contracting, including in a professional services firm

·       Experience with government contracts regulatory framework, including rules and considerations for Post-Government Employment and competition and antitrust

·       Experience with designing, implementing, executing, and enhancing compliance programs and sub-programs

·       Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $121,200.00 to $275,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
