Data Architect, Mid

Key Role:

Initiate data architecture (DA) related activities, including extract-transform-load (ETL) processes and data warehouse solutions design, through business needs analysis and routine issue resolution. Design database structures and authors SQL queries and scripts to perform ETL operations. Apply advanced consulting skills or extensive technical expertise. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction. Support broader mission initiatives across the system operational baseline. Analyze DA related business needs, works with project staff to make decisions and recommendations on the future of DA developments, and delivers high quality DA related outcomes, including ETL processes, data warehouse designs, and data system enhancements in accordance with existing standards and guidelines. Design database, data models, ETL processes, data warehouse applications, and business intelligence reports through the use of best practices and tools, resolving routine DA related issues with business analysts and technology teams by providing advice on data warehousing methods and approaches. Review the current database environment and implements changes to comply with mission critical requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with developing complex multi-data source SQL queries on a variety of relational database technologies, including Microsoft Access and SQL Server

  • 2+ years of experience with writing data manipulation logic using programming languages and defining, implementing, and troubleshooting robust and scalable data structures, including SQL and VBA

  • Experience with relational database development to support centralized data repositories that enable data science and data analytic activities

  • Knowledge of data management and transformation solutions, including business outcomes

  • Knowledge of data architecture and design of end-to-end solutions on ingest, process, and analysis of large and complex data sets

  • Knowledge of relational and dimensional modeling, data mining, and ETL design processes

  • Ability to work with government and military clients and respond to changing priorities

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, collaborating with Application Development and Architecture Teams

  • Experience with MS PowerPlatform applications, including DataVerse and Power Apps

  • Possession of professionalism and team skills for client and teammate collaboration 

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Information Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
