Defense Mission Manager, Lead

The Opportunity:

As a Defense Mission Professional, you’ll bring your planning and operational expertise as well as your leadership and management experience to work on projects for Service headquarters, component commands, and Naval commands. You’ll analyze and anticipate client requirements, develop and implement plans, and manage and lead the team during execution to ensure quality delivery on time and on budget.  You’ll be a trusted advisor to our clients, and we’ll look to you to provide analysis supported by qualitative and quantitative data to senior leaders to inform key decisions. You’ll guide the work we do for Service headquarters and naval and component commands and the solutions we deliver for military missions, defense planning, and national security. You Have:  

  • 20+ years of experience with the DoD

  • Experience with Marine Corps Service headquarters, Component, and Joint Staffs

  • Experience in writing and briefing at the general and flag officer level

  • Knowledge of Naval emerging operating concepts and experimentation with new and emergent capabilities

  • Knowledge of Marine Corps Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) employment concepts

  • Knowledge of Joint Global Force Management (GFM) and Marine Corps Force Synchronization processes

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, direction, and supervision

  • Ability to interpret the intent of a client’s needs effectively and help to shape and form the solution by leveraging team capabilities

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree


Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience planning in the NORTHCOM AOR

  • Experience leading and managing multiple independent project teams

  • Experience with Experimentation, Wargaming, and Data Analytics

  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment with aggressive project timelines and continual client delivery

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Master’s degree

  • Graduate of Joint Professional Military Education Phase I and II

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $106,200.00 to $242,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
