Maritime Mission System Cybersecurity Engineer

Key Role:

Design, develop, and operationalize algorithms using data science techniques that address cybersecurity challenges. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Consult and lead on vulnerability identification, new threat exposures, and emerging security technologies. Apply specific functional, working, and general industry knowledge on a daily basis. Work independently with some guidance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), CNSSI 1253, NIST Publications, and industry best practices

  • Knowledge of NISPOM security requirements and how to implement required security settings

  • Ability to enact Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for Windows and Linux operating systems

  • Ability to evaluate ACAS and Tenable Nessus scans and develop mitigation strategies to obtain an Authority to Operate approval

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • IAT Level II Certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with developing Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages and addressing technical package issues for US Navy or DoD clients

  • Experience with processing in Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS)

  • Experience with work ACAS, EMASS, EMASSTER, and other automated tools to support compliance, verification and validation activities

  • Knowledge of developing RMF accreditation packages using current DoD Instruction 8510.01 accreditation methods, including the System Authorization Boundary, Hardware, Software, and Firmware lists, Dataflow Diagram, Security Plan, Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), System Categorization, Enterprise Reporting RMF Scorecard, System Level Continuous Monitoring (SLCM) Strategy, Risk Assessment Report (RAR), Security Assessment Plan (SAP), and Security Assessment Report (SAR)

  • Knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), conducting manual reviews, interpreting STIG guidance, and implementation recommendations

  • Knowledge of drafting documentation relating to vulnerabilities, including POA&Ms, Waivers, or Risk Acceptance

  • Knowledge of Cyber Threats and Identification

  • Knowledge of vulnerability remediation for Windows and Linux based systems

  • Ability to provide Systems Security Engineering and technical support in the development of trustworthy, Cyber Resilient systems for engineering-based solutions that manage the growing complexity, dynamicity, and interconnections of today's systems as exemplified by cyber-physical systems, control systems, and systems of systems

  • Ability to analyze security vulnerability reports and develop and implement a plan to mitigate critical vulnerabilities

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
