Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Technician

Key Role:

Assemble and fabricate electrical, electronic, or mechanical components or equipment. Operate mechanical machinery, calibration equipment, power tools, and electronic tooling. Apply specific functional knowledge as well as working and general industry knowledge. Assist in the development of solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work under general supervision and provide guidance for less experienced team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience maintaining and operating UUVs

  • 3+ years of experience performing Navy maintenance practices using Navy maintenance manuals

  • 1+ years of experience conducting tests and evaluations of Navy UUVs

  • Experience with mission plans for UUVs using computerized tools, especially laptops  

  • Experience in operating and maintaining small maritime surface craft under 30ft in length 

  • Ability to interface with UUV stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Naval personnel

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

  • Ability to get on and off boats and ride in boats in rough sea states        

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience training personnel in the operation and maintenance of complex equipment

  • Experience delivering oral presentations to mid-size groups

  • Experience reviewing .pdf technical drawings

  • Experience taking videos and photography

  • Ability to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Boat Captain’s License

  • CPR certificate

  • SCUBA diving certificate
