Joint Operations Center Technician, Mid

Key Role:
Initiate emergency procedures and Crisis Action Team notifications, update Joint Operations Center (JOC) displays showing the status of any current operations, activities, and actions, and maintain unit readiness data and contact information. Assist with the management and daily operations of the JOC and obtain or exchange information pertinent to emergency support plans and activities. Evaluate, analyze, and disseminate information of interest to the JOC manager and relay information through various communication equipment to the appropriate personnel. Record actions taken, equipment assigned, and other pertinent information into proper databases and examine, analyze, and interpret data from a variety of resources, including interrelated electronic monitoring instruments, visual displays, area maps, news reports, and electronic mail to detect either normal or abnormal conditions of the area. Copy, validate, process, and relay messages to appropriate personnel and provide support during Joint Forces exercises or emergencies as a member of the JOC emergency response team in a timely manner and without error. Perform tasks that activate the JOC, as required, including exchanging information with other emergency response agencies, coordinating data collection and reporting, coordinating with field personnel, preparing briefings or situation reports, and assisting the JOC manager with briefing key staff on significant emergency situations and providing situational assessments requiring response and recommendations for action. Assist with messages for the directorate, including processing, transferring to the appropriate network, and developing and disseminating messages into and out of the directorate.

Basic Qualifications:
-1 year of experience in a JOC or command post at the component, Joint Staff, or MACOM level
-Experience with Joint Staff operations
-Experience with JOC operations
-Active Secret clearance
-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:
-Ability to display proficiency in the Korean language
-Top Secret clearance
