Operational Energy Analyst

Key Role:

Provide high level subject matter expertise related to operational energy concepts employed by the Marine Corps potential courses of action and program plans pertaining to Marine Corps ground systems as well as contribute to the planning for, and participation in, field events such as Expeditionary Energy Concepts (E2C) and technology demonstrations. Provide advanced technical knowledge, energy concept analyses, and concept-based experimentation and demonstrations of Marine Corps energy-related initiatives to include employment and considerations related to logistical energy resupply, the relationships between energy supply and demand in operationally relevant energy-stressing scenarios, and the risks and contingency plans associated with energy supply shortfalls or "off-grid" operations of Marine Corps system. Provide courses of action and recommendations related to system employment that improve expeditionary energy resulting in measurable improvements to operational outcomes and sustainment. Develop resulting technical reports, energy shortfall reports, and courses of action to improve expeditionary energy.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in planning and executing maneuver operations within the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF), including logistical support concepts and employment considerations
  • 2+ years of experience in conducting analytical activities or providing support for DoD acquisition programs or fielded capabilities
  • Knowledge of Marine Corps organization, doctrine, and employment
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical problems where capabilities are affected by technical achievability, affordability, and schedule
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with mixed teams comprised of government, academia, and industry personnel
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with developing requirements and building statistical or simulation models
  • Experience with systems engineering
  • Experience with the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), including Energy Supportability Analyses (ESAs) and Energy Key Performance Parameters (KPPs)
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, and analytical skill
  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM-related discipline or operations research

    Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $49,800.00 to $102,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
