Cyber Warfare Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity:  

As a Cyber Warfare engineer, you know how to create and maintain crucial pieces of software. You use your knowledge to write and optimize code that creates a bridge between pieces of software, allowing them to communicate. We’re looking for an experienced embedded software engineer like you to develop technology for our clients’ most important mission-forward challenges.  

As an embedded software engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll support the development of systems, sites, and tools for our clients. Using the latest tools and technology, you’ll write, test, and edit code in support of the team’s overall results. You’ll expand your skills as you develop and reverse engineer software that supports hardware functionality on a wide range of devices, as well as configure solutions based on the platform being used. You’ll work with other team leaders to troubleshoot and correct operational issues, as well as with cybersecurity specialists to ensure that the software you’re creating is secure.

You Have: 

  • 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Computer Network Exploitation (CNE), Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO), or Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) 
  • Experience with agile practices and tools, including Git and ticketing systems 
  • Experience with the Linux kernel development and debugging
  • Knowledge of complex software integrations, including multi-process and multi-system
  • Knowledge of complex computer networking, including iptables, VLANs, and ICMP
  • Knowledge of database technologies, including SQL or NoSQL
  • Ability to write, compile, and debug low-level LLVM compliant languages such as C and C++
  • Ability to write and debug Python and BASH Scripts 
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience with the Federal government, including DoD and IC Cyber Operations 
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Master’s degree  

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
