Environmental Remediation Project Manager

Key Role:

Provide project management and technical consulting services in support of various DoD environmental clients. Consult on environmental program strategic planning, programming, budgeting, scheduling, management, execution, and contract surveillance. Support DoD environmental clients helping to manage their environmental remediation sites involving contaminated media, including soil, sediments, and groundwater. Consult on studies, analyses, and evaluations and provide technical expertise associated with geology, hydrogeology, hydrology, and risk assessment associated with environmental investigation and remediation activities at various sites and federal installations. Analyze and interpret regulatory, policy, and guidance requirements as it applies to the environmental restoration program. Conduct reviews of historic and publicly available information to develop environmental investigation and remediation strategies. Conduct research and analysis, data evaluation, and data interpretation to build actionable recommendations. Perform technical reviews of environmental restoration technical documents, including work plans and reports, for investigations and remediation. Assist with preparation of contracting packages for environmental projects and technical reviews of proposals. Prepare briefing slides and facilitate or participate in meetings or teleconferences with DoD, contractors, regulators, and the public, along with other stakeholders. Conduct periodic technical field oversight of contractors at DoD sites currently undergoing environmental investigation or remediation efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in an environmental technical or project management role for environmental investigation or remediation or restoration programs

  • Experience providing strategic and technical evaluations and recommendations on investigations, remediation, optimization, and site closure activities

  • Experience interacting with DoD, federal, state, and local agencies

  • Experience with Emerging Contaminants such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)

  • Experience managing environmental sites under state, RCRA, or CERCLA programs

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Sciences

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in an environmental consulting or project management role working directly with a client

  • Experience working with project teams with various disciplines

  • Experience authoring letters, briefings, plans, and technical reports

  • Experience with environmental field activities, including excavation, sampling, drilling, well installation, or system installation

  • Ability to think strategically while critically analyzing details

  • Ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize all relevant data to make sound recommendations

  • Ability to travel throughout the U.S. up to 25% of the time in support of the DoD client(s) at various federal installations, including Alaska

  • Possession of excellent organizational skills

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, Professional Geologist (PG) license, or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
