Cloud Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Designs, implements, and maintains cloud-based resources in Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing environment. Demonstrates a strong background in cloud computing, virtualization, and network administration. Demonstrates a strong understanding of security best practices, ability to manage complex projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in design and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure solutions based on industry best practices and client requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with managing and optimizing cloud-based resources to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness

  • Experience with managing and maintaining Linux-based servers, including patching, security, and performance optimization

  • Knowledge of integrating Power Platform environment and Azure subscriptions

  • Knowledge of cloud security controls, reliability, availability, and scalability of applications running on the cloud 

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology 

  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate, including AZ-104 and AZ-305   

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Architect or Administrator

  • Experience with designing, planning, and managing an organization's cloud computing infrastructure

  • Experience with a wide variety of web and open-source software applications

  • Experience with scripting skills in languages, including Python, Bash, or PowerShell

  • Experience with Agile software development methodology, test-driven development, and the DevSecOps approach to the Software Development Lifecyle (SDLC)

  • Knowledge of Open Mission Systems and Unmanned Airborne Systems Command and Control Initiative standards

  • Knowledge of networking protocols and services, including TCP and IP, DNS, load balancers, and firewalls

  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line interface

  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing platform

  • DoD 8570.01 Manual Baseline Certification, including CompTIA Security+ CE

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
