Cybersecurity Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Support systems engineering and integration activities for military command, control, communications, computers and intelligence programs. Ensure cybersecurity requirements are incorporated throughout the system’s acquisition life cycle, from pre-award to development and accreditation. Contribute to and review system documents such as cybersecurity strategies, network architectures, and implementation plans. Leverage emerging technologies and processes to build resilient cyber defenses. Lead and participate in working groups involving multiple stakeholders and mission partners. This position is located in San Diego, CA.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with cybersecurity engineering on command, control, communications, computers and intelligence programs for DoD, federal, or commercial clients

  • Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities required to obtain and maintain an Authority to Operate (ATO) for a U.S. Navy system

  • Knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Committee on National Security Systems Instruction, including NIST SP 800-60, NIST SP 800-53, and CNSSI 1253

  • Ability to analyze and communicate complex technical challenges to both technical and non-technical clients and stakeholders

  • Ability to work in an Agile teaming environment

  • Secret clearance

  • BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics

  • IAT Level II Network Certification, including Network+, or CCNA

  • IAT Level II Security Certification, including Security+ CE, or GSEC

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with security tools and devices, including network firewalls, web proxy, intrusion prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, or penetration tools

  • Experience with administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Windows Server 2008 or higher

  • Experience with cybersecurity engineering for U.S. Navy systems or programs

  • Experience with performing cybersecurity risk assessments on complex systems

  • Experience with developing cybersecurity authorization artifacts to enable an ATO for a system or program

  • Ability to provide cybersecurity technical consulting to a customer

  • Ability to provide subject matter expertise to system engineering documents, including technical requirements documents, interface control documents, and system specifications

  • Top Secret clearance

  • MS degree in a technical field preferred

  • IAT Level III Network Certification, including CCNP-Security, or CCNP-CyberOps, preferred

  • IAT Level III Security Certification, including CISSP, or CISM, preferred
