Engineering Technician, Senior

Key Role:

Perform complex and highly technical work in support of US Navy shipboard Electronic Warfare (EW) systems fielded as part of the Shipboard Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP). Conduct testing, evaluations, troubleshooting, maintenance, and field support of complex maritime EW systems. Support corrective maintenance actions and repairs of globally deployed US Navy maritime platforms. Work outdoors on elevated heights and maritime environments under austere conditions. Provide familiarization training to US Navy personnel. This position requires travel.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience with AN/SLQ-32(V)6 technical work
  • Knowledge of fiber optic cables and connections, including multi, signal mode, and RF over fiber
  • Ability to climb ship masts and work from heights or a harness on while aloft
  • Ability to work within confined spaces, including the space under an antenna or behind equipment racks
  • Ability to travel on short notice to provide on ship support
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Navy Shipboard Fiber Optic Training Certification
  • Completion of Navy AN/SLQ-32 system training

Additional Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience with AN/SLQ-32(V)6 technical work
  • 4+ years of experience as a shipboard EW technician working with the AN/SLQ-32(V)6 system
  • 4+ years of experience with the High Gain High Sense Subsystem (HGHS)
  • 4+ years of experience with the Combat Systems Operational Sequencing System (CSOSS) for power distribution, LP air systems, and valve alignments for both air and water systems
  • 2+ years of experience with the AN/SLA-10D blanker system
