Mine Warfare Training Specialist, Mid

The Opportunity:

As a Mine Warfare Training Specialist, you'll bring your expertise to work on fleet introduction and training acquisition projects in surface mine countermeasures. You'll coordinate delivery of new systems to the fleet, including assisting with installation of onboard training systems to ships. You will be part of the team to integrate the Total Ship Training Capability for mine countermeasures systems with other Live, Virtual, and Constructive training resources. You'll research and assess the training environment and apply your expertise to support the delivery of naval mine countermeasures capabilities into the Surface Navy, with a focus on training Sailors for proper operation and maintenance of their systems. You'll be a trusted advisor to our team and our clients, and we'll look to you to identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, and processes to improve mine countermeasure readiness.

You Have: 

  • 10+ years of experience as a Surface Navy Chief Petty Officer, Navy Officer, or a government civilian or contractor in the Defense Industry, or a combination of the roles
  • 3+ years of experience with Navy mine warfare training, and planning, administering, or managing mine warfare systems
  • Experience writing training assessments, materiel condition reports, or discrepancy reports to identify unit training deficiencies, and recommending solutions for mission readiness
  • Experience in personnel or unit performance analysis, and preparing and transmitting formal communication of readiness using standardized reporting formats such as military reporting systems, Planning Board for Training Briefs, or communications material
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience as a Director of Training, Operations Officer, Flag or Commodore staff, or Instructor
  • Experience with Surface Ship scheduling for training events, including the constraints to ensure crews meet all readiness requirements
  • Experience developing and delivering briefs to executive leaders
  • Experience using DoD programs for training readiness and delivery such as Training Figure of Merit (TFOM), Training Sierra Hotel Aviation Readiness Program (T-SHARP), or Content Planning Module (CPM)
  • Knowledge of the Navy Fleet Response Training Plan (FRTP) process and its application to Naval Mine Warfare
  • Knowledge of the Navy training development and acquisition processes
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master Training Specialist Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
