Strategic Communications Specialist

Key Role:

Support a range of communications from strategic communications planning to execution, including planning and facilitation of technical workshops, workforce brown bags, town halls and other events, develop marketing campaigns for those events, and lead other client communications initiatives, including large-scale outreach campaigns to engage the technical stakeholders and drive acceptance of client policies. Draft and edit a variety of communications materials and products, including talking points, leadership communications, marketing copy, newsletter content, and website content. Work independently and contribute to the team in a collaborative, creative environment. Support DoD and U.S. Government internal and external communications and media, including professional executive level briefings, emails, web announcements, reports, policy documents, conference presentations, and limited speech writing to help clients and our team deliver the right messages. Work independently and take documents, briefings, and other materials all the way through to client-ready completion, without substantial oversight.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience with working in a professional environment

  • 5+ years of experience with using Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, or Teams

  • 5+ years of experience with strategic communications

  • Experience with developing communications strategy or communications plans

  • Experience with translating technical concepts to functional audiences, including senior leaders

  • Experience with writing newsletters, articles, social media, and internal organization communications

  • Ability to work with senior leaders, respond to changing priorities, and adapt writing styles to meet the needs of audiences at various levels

  • Ability to be a proactive self-starter and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Navy programs

  • Experience with Agile teams

  • Knowledge of system and software development or implementation concepts

  • Possession of excellent relationship management skills, including for building relationships

  • Possession of excellent interpersonal and team working skills

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strategic Communications Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
