Operations Support Clerk

Key Role:
Provide exercise coordination support to the Command, with an emphasis on travel and budgetary tasks related to exercise life cycle events, including information management, budget tracking, record keeping, and Defense Travel System (DTS) management for the Operations section. Assist with fiscal planning, development, and coordination for exercise plans and identify requirements for demanding Joint combined exercises. Provide analytical support for the development of policy recommendations to the Current and Future Operations Directors concerning fiscal management policy and procedures relating to the planning and execution of qualified exercises in the Joint Exercise Program (JEP) life cycle. Review and analyze processes and capabilities in G3 mission-related areas and identify and recommend process and with emphasis on travel and budget administrative tasks. Provide analytical support for the development of yearly budget estimates for N35 JCX exercise life cycle requirements and track monthly expenses. Assist with managing Lines of Accounting (LOAs) in correspondence to the budget requirements with the COMPTROLLER for all N35 JCX exercises. Plan and provide recommendations for exercise logistics in support of operational plans, review operational plans and leadership vision, and provide recommendations and potential revisions to improve current and future plans.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience as an administrator, routing official, or approver in Defense Travel System (DTS)

-5+ years of experience with planning in fiscal budgeting for operations, activities, and investments at the Component Command level or Joint Staff or equivalent

-Knowledge of Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) and Global Theater Security Cooperation Management Information System (G-TSCMIS)

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Ability to travel anywhere in the US, EUCOM, and AFRICOM AORs

Clearance:
