The Opportunity:

As a technical editor, you know how to communicate complex ideas and conceptual information in a clear and concise manner. We are looking for an experienced technical editor like you, who is ready to grow and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you will advance your consulting skills to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external executive level correspondence, plans, reports, journal articles, and other supporting documentation for the DoD.

As an editor on our team, you will closely impact the development of creative solutions to complex problems. You will edit and quality control internal client publications and products provided to senior policymakers and the Joint Community. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to provide quality products in support of force development and design initiatives.

As a collaborator on all aspects of written communications, you will review and edit fact sheets, briefs, talking points, newsletters, pamphlets, web site content, articles, email messages, social media content, manuals, and reports. Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your client to inform key audiences through words with tools like Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with technical writing and editing
  • 2+ years of experience with executive level military staff
  • Experience with original authorship of executive correspondence
  • Knowledge of multiple writing style guides and requirements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office product suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to leverage digital collaboration tools to lead and track development of a publication and maintain digital information in a distributed environment
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail and be flexible, proactive, and adaptable to changing client priorities
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple client organizations and teams
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Associate’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Department of Defense, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, or Joint service environment
  • Experience with resolving peer review and critique from subject matter experts such as comment resolution matrix
  • Experience with coordination and staffing of official documents
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload with minimal supervision
  • Bachelor’s degree in English or Journalism a plus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,100.00 to $119,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
