As a Mechanical Systems Engineer on our team, you’ll have the chance to shape sustainment and modification programs on a variety of aircraft systems, including identifying and supporting items critical to aircraft mission availability and improving lifecycle processes for aircraft systems and subsystems. Your customer will trust you to not only design and develop these systems, but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions. You Have:
4+ years of experience in aerospace engineering
Experience with DoD sustainment and acquisition processes
Experience with manufacturing processes and materials science
Knowledge of standards and regulations, such as MIL-STD or ASME
Knowledge of DoD Technical Data Package (TDP) creation and DoD acquisition requirements generation
Ability to review and understand technical drawings and identify critical characteristics
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues for mechanical systems and components
Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams to gather necessary information and resolve technical issues, and work with and present to senior ranking officials
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Nice If You Have:
10+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
Experience working with airworthiness standards and regulations in the Air Force, including MIL-HDBK-516 and Joint Service Specification Guides (JSSGs)
Experience evaluating TDP, Source Approval Requests (SAR), First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, and other associated documentation submitted through a Records Management System to ensure adherence to specifications and acceptability of delivered items
Experience with SysML and digital engineering processes and tools, such as Cameo
Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Experience with DoD Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E)
Ability to coordinate and manage Engineering Technical Assistance Request (ETAR) processes and procedures, including AFMC guidelines and the use of AF Form 107 and AF Form 202
Top Secret clearance
Master’s degree in Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
