The Opportunity:

As a data analyst, you will dive into complex data sets to turn this data into meaningful insights while developing innovative solutions to problems. Do you get excited at the prospect of supporting a critical mission through data? If so, we need you to bring your expertise to our team to drive solutions for our clients.

As a client-facing data analyst on our team, you’ll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you provide a deep understanding of their data, but you’ll also advise your client on what the information means and how it can be used to make an impact on the availability of critical defense assets.

How You’ll Contribute:

  • Use your data analytics expertise to support client and stakeholder relationships.

  • Research, develop, and test data methodologies, and generate cross-functional solutions through collection, interpretation, and evaluation of large data sets.

  • Contribute to impactful work and guide decision-making across multiple organizations.

  • Apply consulting skills and data analytics expertise by simplifying technical requirements and trends, based on audience.

  • Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your knowledge of databases, scripting languages, including SQL, R, and Python, and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes.

  • Apply data visualizations through different formats using commercial-off-the-shelf and custom tools.

  • Grow your communication and technical skills by merging consulting and big data to create data-centric solutions.

You Have:

  • Experience with coding in R or Python

  • Experience with ETL and EDA processes to answer questions and solve problems

  • Experience with visualizing data to identify or communicate key insights

  • Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, or optimization algorithms

  • Knowledge of basic concepts in mathematics and statistics

  • Ability to communicate complex analytical insights to non-technical audience

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with R Shiny, Flask, HTML, and UI and UX centric development

  • Experience with database development and architecture design

  • Experience with defining data governance and management requirements

  • Experience with version control management using Git framework

  • Experience with deploying solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Experience with data visualization tools, including Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI

  • Experience with mentoring junior staff or leading teams

  • Experience with supporting the Army or DoD clients

  • Secret clearance

  • Master's degree in Data Science, CS, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or Statistics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
