Electrical Engineer

Key Role: 

Serve as an electrical design engineer in the public works branch in support of the Marine Corps as part of larger Marine Corps Force Design 2030 initiatives. Responsible for providing expert-level technical advice on the planning and programming requirements for the design and construction of existing facilities repair and alteration projects. Assists the Basing Action Planning Team in determining the scope of work for Initial Operational Capability and Final Operational Capability projects. Perform site investigations, evaluate conditions of existing systems, and provide reports and recommendations in correcting deficiencies. Plan and direct the execution of engineering designs of electrical systems for various types of facilities including structures unique to military use that are of considerable size, complexity, and extent. Develop preliminary and final electrical designs, drawings, analyses, technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction milestones for the construction, major renovation, repair, and maintenance of various facilities. Review design documents produced by other service branch engineering teams or private Architect-Engineer firms. Coordinate with architects and engineers in other specialized fields concerning related work in architectural, civil, mechanical, communications, and electronic security systems, as well as environmental and industrial hygiene requirements.  

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience in the electrical engineering field
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to the full range of duties concerned with the planning, design, construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of facilities normally found on military installations
  • Knowledge of diverse, highly complex projects, including headquarters buildings, hazardous and flammable handling facilities, large automotive maintenance shops, aviation maintenance shops, community centers, education centers, dining facilities, and upgrading electrical, mechanical, security, and communication systems
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation control systems, fire protection monitoring and control, primary and secondary electrical distribution systems, emergency and backup power systems, and energy conservation
  • Knowledge of engineering fields, including architectural, civil, mechanical, communications, electronic detection systems, and environmental
  • Ability to provide expert-level electrical engineering guidance in state-of-the-art designs, engineering and scientific concepts, and modern technologies
  • Ability to use computer software, email, spreadsheets, database management, word processing, and the internet including computer-aided design and drafting techniques
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Additional Qualifications: 

  • Experience working on military, municipal, federal, state, industrial, or manufacturing design projects
  • Experience in Facilities Planning

Clearance: 

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
