Key Role:
Advise and assist the training officer in tracking incidents, develop a chronological log of reportable and recordable safety incidents, maintain and update all safety mishaps and SIREPs in a Safety Office internal tracker. Monitor the induction of Safety Reports and provide the Safety Officer with quarterly trend analysis reports. Assist with developing, coordinating, and monitoring the Safety Program and Safety Inspection Program, including coordination of a quarterly unit level safety council, and complete the quarterly meeting minutes for publication. Communicate with adjacent units as a resource for administrative assistance, including signing up for training, extending guidance set by the Safety Officer, assistance with electronic reporting interface such as Web-Enabled Safety System (WESS) and Enterprise Safety Application Management System (ESAMS), and receiving documentation outlining proof of a mission capable safety program. Advise the Safety Officer on all aspects of applicable doctrine, with a focus but not limited to range safety operations. Advise the Safety Officer on all categorization of safety incidents, including but not limited to determination thresholds for Safety Investigation Boards. Maintain, update, coordinate and publish the 3d Marine Division Quarterly Safety Training Program, Commanding General's Readiness Inspection (CGRI) question reference guide, Safety SharePoint portal, Safety Policy, and Safety Order.
