Test Engineer

The Opportunity:

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development—and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, a knowledgeable test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.   

As a Test Engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with engineers to evaluate software developed for the client programs. You’ll build a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using automated and manual processes, you’ll generate data and execute the test cases to see how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. You’ll automate continuous security and performance testing, and monitor health of ground vehicle survivability and protection technologies.

You Have:  

  • 3+ years of experience working in production release or development and verification of hardware and software systems as formal product releases 
  • Experience working in Integrated Product Teams
  • Experience with software development
  • Knowledge of design development and implementation of hardware in the loop automated testing for system and component level products, including first article acceptance test, full qualification testing, inventory management tests, and regression tests for capabilities development of AI/ML products
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS or Electrical Engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience managing software release delivery in a production or development environment
  • Experience with LabVIEW and supporting NI/Lab view software, test bench design, and development for hardware in the loop testing
  • Experience with hardware design
  • Experience working with Continuous Integrations tools, including Jenkins
  • Knowledge of the Agile environment
  • Knowledge of CMMI Level 3 processes
  • Knowledge of risk and issue management
  • Ability to lead the design and development of system, subsystem level validation, and verification test processes, including resources identification and detailed task breakdowns for hardware and software
  • Ability to lead the design and execution of formal Military Standards testing in support of product maturation for the family of survivability products
  • Security+ Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
