Autonomous Systems Engineer

The Opportunity:

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a big impact on a fast-growing technical team charged with architecting and engineering new autonomous systems? Do you have the combination of technical skills and curiosity necessary to understand, engineer, and optimize how all the pieces of a complex system fit together? If so, we’re looking for someone like you to help architect and engineer autonomous systems for a key DoD client.

On our team of multi-disciplinary engineers, you’ll apply model-based systems engineering (MBSE) using MagicDraw and the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) to develop architectures for autonomous, software-driven systems. You will be responsible for decomposing mission needs and synthesizing architectural components and requirements while liaising with government and industry partners to enable the client’s success. Your technical expertise and communication skills will be vital as you accomplish these objectives through a combination of hands-on technical work, team technical leadership, and collaboration with other professionals.

You Have:

  • Experience performing systems architecture development for military or commercial mission systems
  • Experience with systems engineering processes for military or aviation applications
  • Experience with MBSE using UAF, SysML, Cameo, MagicDraw, or DoDAF
  • Knowledge of development and management systems and software
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or CS

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with modular open systems approach (MOSA) standards
  • Experience with object-oriented and service-oriented architecture software development
  • Experience with autonomy technologies or machine learning technologies
  • Experience with system safety processes, MIL-STD-882, or RTCA/DO-178
  • Secret clearance
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or CS
  • OMG-Certified SysML Professional (OCSMP) or OMG-Certified UML Professional 2 (OCUP 2) Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
