The Opportunity:
Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As a DevOps engineer, you’re eager to develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client’s needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to develop container management software to solve some of our clients’ toughest challenges. As a senior platform DevOps engineer at Booz Allen, you can use your technical skills to affect mission-forward change. On our team, you’ll hone your skills using the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment with current container software to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platform experience, you’ll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process.
In this role, you will understand cloud architectural constructs and can establish and maintain cloud environments utilizing vendor consoles and programmatically. You'll leverage a complete DevOps pipeline to drive rapid delivery of functionality to the client at hyper speed. You will engage with multiple functional groups to comprehend client challenges, prototype new ideas and new technologies, and help to create solutions to drive the next wave of innovation. You'll design, implement, schedule, test, and deploy full features and components of solutions. You will ensure quality delivery of software through thorough testing and reviews. You possess specialized knowledge of cloud specific technologies and services have familiarity with Cloud Command Line Interfaces (CLI) and Cloud SDKs. You will apply extensive technical expertise and have full knowledge of other related disciplines. You'll develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. You’ll recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you’ll continue to strengthen your DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms. Work with us to use cloud platform technology for good.

You Have:
4+ years of experience in the development of tools and processes to drive DevOps or DevSecOps maturity by automating builds, regression testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across environments
4+ years of experience with troubleshooting, triaging, and resolving issues related to CI/CD pipeline failures or slowness
4+ years of experience with C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, Go, or scripting in Shell or PowerShell and Perl
Experience with developing enterprise cloud-native solutions in AWS or Azure or Google Cloud
Experience working with application development teams across the software development lifecycle and creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative team environment
Knowledge of containers, including LXC and Docker and Amazon AWS services and APIs, including EC2, S3, VPC, and IAM, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud services
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience with developing enterprise cloud-native solutions, including Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Jenkins, or Azure
Experience with creating and improving continuous automation across multiple technical stacks
Experience with creating and improving continuous deployment tools built on Kubernetes
Experience with triaging and resolving issues related to both open source and commercial tools in public cloud environments
Knowledge of Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, Mesosphere, Docker Data Center, or Kubernetes
Knowledge of Ansible, Chef, Puppet, AWS, CloudFormation, Terraform, and Salt
Knowledge of scripting languages, including Python, Linux, or Shell Script
Secret clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
