Cyber Strategy Consulting Leader

Key Role:

Provide supplementary leadership and aid in strategy development for the Cyber Strategy Solutions Group leadership team. Team with respected and experienced leaders and seasoned professionals and work directly with our clients to help them assess their cybersecurity posture to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of their security controls. Lead client delivery and execution with a growing team of Cyber Assessors, Cyber Strategists, and Risk Management professionals. Provide leadership and support for a growth minded business that seeks to continuous evolve and incorporate new techniques and technologies to deliver differentiated and industry leading capabilities for clients. Mentor, lead, and grow a team of cyber assessors and strategists to deliver outstanding work while partnering with other commercial capabilities within Commercial account. Work with clients across a variety of industry verticals, including energy, financial services, health, pharmaceuticals, high-tech, manufacturing, and transportation. Assume responsibility for the successful execution and delivery of cyber assessments. Lead a team of assessors to refine and apply Booz Allen’s cyber assessment capabilities and solutions to address each client’s strategic, operational, and regulatory assessment needs while partnering with the Cyber Risk team. Apply your expertise to lead the identification of management, operational, and technical vulnerabilities, evaluate areas of non-compliance, and assess risks to client systems and environments. Work with clients to develop risk mitigating strategies, identify areas for systemic improvement, and build long-term strategies to ensure assets are secure, and internal and external compliance requirements are addressed. Ensure that all deliverables are of the highest quality, and that tasks are executed in accordance with established schedules and budgets. Work with Account Managers and Capability and Market leaders to build relationships with clients and identify future opportunities for capture at strategic clients.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with executing cybersecurity assessments against common industry frameworks, including NIST RMF, NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, and ISO 27001, identifying root cause issues, and recommending risk-based remediations to improve an organization’s security posture

  • Experience with leading and managing a team, including financial management and career development

  • Experience with serving as capability or solutions leader bringing industry leading thoughts and innovation for a commercial cyber consulting organization

  • Experience in leading enterprise consulting engagements with Fortune 500 and Global 500 clients and briefing executive-level client stakeholders, including CIO, CTO, or CISO

  • Experience with cybersecurity or IT risk and control assessments to evaluate and analyze threat, vulnerability, impact, risk, and security issues to business units and leaders

  • Experience with identifying technology vulnerabilities via manual and automated processes, including  automated compliance and vulnerability scanners, system configuration reviews, or CIS Benchmarks

  • Experience with authoring technical reports, presentations, and briefs based on performed assessments and authoring thought leadership articles, blogs, or studies.

  • Experience with leading projects from inception through completion

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with working in information security

  • Experience with Windows or Linux system administration

  • Experience with administering and assessing network devices and security

  • Experience with security standards, such as CIS benchmarks and STIGs

  • Ability to research emerging topics, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies, such as AI, Zero Trust, Post Quantum Cryptography, threat modeling, or risk modeling 

  • Ability to be dedicated, innovative, resourceful, and work under pressure

  • Ability to lead an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment

  • Possession of excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • CISSP, CAP, GSEC, Security+, CISM, CISA, or a related Certification preferred

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $153,400.00 to $285,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
