Job Description
Key Role:
Lead and conduct environmental compliance audits at federal facilities on a regular basis to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations and agency environmental policies and procedures. Conduct environmental compliance research in advance of the audit to prepare for the unique aspects of the facility to be reviewed. Conduct in-briefing with leadership and interview agency staff, review documentation, and observe operations to confirm the status of compliance. Develop out-briefing documents and apprise leadership of the findings of the audit and provide recommendations to improve compliance status. Develop audit reports to confirm findings and provide recommendations to address root causes of deficiencies noted to provide long-term solutions and improve the state of environmental compliance. Help to develop environmental compliance audit procedures to standardize operations, ensure consistency among audit teams, and ensure high quality audits are being conducted. Provide mid-level technical support and project management while supporting mid- and senior-level staff. Provide management and development support for junior staff and perform task leadership and some project management.
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in environmental compliance working with private companies or federal agencies
- 3+ years of experience leading and conducting environmental compliance audits, assessments, and inspections to determine compliance for federal, state, and local standards
- Experience applying company and agency environmental policies and procedures
- Experience interpreting and applying environmental compliance with a broad range of federal environmental regulations such as CAA, NESHAP, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, CWA, SDWA, CERCLA, and NEPA
- Ability to assess facility operations and apply environmental compliance regulations
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a working environment
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
Additional Qualifications:
- Possession of excellent interpersonal skills
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Health Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or Biology
- Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA) Certification or equivalent Certification
- 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
