Healthcare Quality Improvement Auditing and Validation SME

Key Role:

Come to Booz Allen and work with a diverse team that will support the evaluation of Medicare’s largest quality improvement program. Use data to drive improvement, helping patients receive the best possible care while also helping achieve national health quality goals. ​Leverage experience conducting auditing and validation activities with Quality Improvement Organizations (QIOs).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience verifying that specific participants are engaged in quality improvement work based on the self-reported data being submitted by each network on a regular basis

  • Experience conducting a qualitative assessment showing effective use of data to drive quality improvement

  • Experience gathering evidence regarding the accuracy of self-reported data submitted quality improvement organizations

  • Experience identifying problems with formatting and evidence of inaccuracy, including inadvertent errors, and “cherry-picked” or manufactured data

  • Experience using CMS claims data to assess reporting accuracy

  • Ability to work as a high-performing individual in a supportive team environment

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience as a quality improvement validation and auditing SME or Master's degree and 5+ years of experience as a quality improvement validation and auditing SME

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience conduct purposive sampling, random sampling, or a combination in a manner that minimizes minimal cost and burden while retaining rigor

  • Experience determining criteria used to judge the qualitative validity of the quality improvement work and the quantitative accuracy of specific improvements, and the specific measures for each aim likely to be emphasized for validation

  • Experience identifying and addressing any Paperwork Reduction Act requirements

  • Experience proposing, developing, and implementing an Inter-rater reliability method to ensure accuracy and consistency of a case review process

  • Experience developing detailed review manuals and training reviewers on best practices for conducting case reviews

  • Experience identifying systemic or individual anomalies and suggesting formal audit or validation

  • Experience monitoring national data sources, such as claims, NHSN, and CMS pay for performance data, for validation of the self-reported quality improvement data

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including interpersonal and presentation skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,300.00 to $149,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
