Penetration Tester, Mid

Key Role:

Finds possible vulnerabilities while using penetration testing tools and techniques, to ensure security of computer systems, applications, servers, or networks. Applies specific functional knowledge and working and general industry knowledge. Develops or contributes to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with some guidance, may review or guide activities of more junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with penetration testing
  • Experience with security testing tools such as Burp Suite, SQLMap, Nmap, Nessus, Postman, Metasploit, and Command and Control (C2) frameworks
  • Experience with network, application, and external penetration testing
  • Experience with creating Rules of Engagement (ROE), test plans, and scripts to aid in testing efforts
  • Experience with creating Technical Assessment Reports which details findings and remediation efforts
  • Knowledge of Network access, identity, and access management such as public key infrastructure, Oauth, OpenID, SAML and SPML
  • Ability to keep up with the latest vulnerability information sources such as alerts, advisories, errata, and bulletins
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting vulnerability scans and recognizing vulnerabilities in security systems
  • Experience conducting web application and API penetration testing
  • Experience with network hardware devices and functions and network traffic analysis methods
  • Possession of excellent verbal communication and organization skills
  • GWAPT, GPEN, OSCP or CEH Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
