Project/Program Management Specialist, Senior

Key Role: 

Provide program and project management expertise in supporting a U.S. Navy (USN) client for acquisition and sustainment management of an Acquisition Category (ACAT)/Business Category (BCAT) I program. Apply program and project management best practices to manage cost, schedule, and performance to support Navy Information Technology (IT) systems. Work on high visibility tasks and work products developed to inform senior executives in the DoD chain of command. Work with DoD IT stakeholders to understand applicable policies and requirements. Coordinate with requiring Government activities and contractor personnel to meet project milestones and minimize risk. Develop and implement the schedules and monitor those plans to manage resources and mitigate risk. Identify issues, develop recommendations for issue resolution, and escalate status updates to client leadership. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience with project management

  • Experience with providing support to ACAT programs or providing support within a Program Management Office (PMO)

  • Experience with developing executive level decks with the ability to infuse critical messaging

  • Experience in supporting senior leaders or executive level clients

  • Experience with Microsoft suite tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Ability to develop visually appealing decks that are tailored for various levels of leadership

  • Ability to work independently and operate in a fast paced environment with changing requirements and senior level engagement

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Ability to obtain a Project Management Professional (PMP) or DAWIA PM Level III Certification within 120 days of the start date

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with supporting a U.S. Navy PMO

  • Experience with supporting large scale programs that have DoD Acquisition Category (ACAT) or Business Category (BCAT) designations

  • Knowledge of IT systems, SDLC, Product and Service Delivery, and Digital Solutions

  • Knowledge of Agile projects

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or DAWIA PM Level III Certification
