As a data scientist, you can turn these complex data sets into useful information to solve global challenges. We have an opportunity for you to use your research and analytical skills to improve the field of quantum science use in government research programs. You’ll work closely with government program managers to track and evaluate the progress of sponsored research efforts performed by leading scientists across the country. You'll use your technical expertise to provide in-depth analyses, conduct background research, and interface with the research community at large to evaluate the feasibility of new concepts and help formulate ideas for new research programs. You’ll mentor teammates, develop algorithms, write scripts, build predictive analytics, apply machine learning, and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn that set of disparate data points into objective answers to help clients use a variety of advanced computational tools in addition to quantum computing to make informed decisions. You’ll provide your customer with a deep understanding of their data, what it all means, and how they can use it. Join us as we use data science for good in the federal government.

You Have:

-5+ years of experience with active research in physics, chemistry, mathematics, or applied statistics, including graduate school and postdoctoral research environments

-2+ years of experience with research in the areas of ion traps, superconducting qubits, semiconducting circuits, and linear optics or theoretical research on topics of quantum computing, quantum information, or quantum annealing

-Experience with authoring peer-reviewed papers

-Experience with programming languages for analytics or scientific applications, including Python and R

-Ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-MA or MS degree

Nice If You Have:

-Experience with project management for scientific projects

-Experience with data science, including analysis, data visualization, and machine learning

-PhD degree
