As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical advisor to the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), helping conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government-funded research and development programs to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. Work with world-class scientists and engineers to support the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems.
You'll serve as a Senior Advisor for Research & Development (R&D), managing complex logistics, creation of financial plans and schedules, supporting alignment with agency priorities, and supporting engagement planning and execution. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of our client’s mission, and problem-solving will enable the mission’s success.
What You’ll Work On:
Develop and deliver technical briefings that inspire and inform senior leaders, translating cutting-edge scientific and operational topics into clear, compelling narratives
Collaborate with subject matter experts and team members in other offices to design engaging and comprehensive briefing content as well as other materials, such as slide decks, and talking points
Provide strategic financial oversight and guidance for all R&D program activities, ensuring alignment with agency priorities
Reimagine financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for R&D initiatives, supporting effective resource allocation and risk management
Advise the Comptroller on financial policy, process improvements, and best practices to optimize R&D program efficiency and fiscal stewardship
Coordinate with program managers and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliation for R&D projects
Lead the review and evaluation of R&D expenditures and contracts to ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to agency standards
Foster synergy across the agency by collaborating with key stakeholders to advance the Director’s vision, leveraging the Comptroller module to drive integrated financial strategies and support agency-wide objectives

You Have:
20+ years of experience supporting executives or government agencies in science, technology, and innovation
10+ years of experience supporting an ARPA or R&D organization
Experience communicating complex scientific information to senior-level executives
Experience creating complex management frameworks for government agencies
Experience with presentation and collaboration tools, such as PowerPoint, SharePoint, Slack, or Teams
Ability to deliver high-quality written and visual products in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Master's degree in Public Administration
Nice If You Have:
Experience communicating complex scientific information to senior-level executives in health innovation or research settings
Experience with the culture, pace, and priorities of government or advanced research environments
Ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to be well-organized, detail-oriented, and adept at multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities to meet deadlines
Possession of excellent creative problem-solving skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
