Radio Frequency Engineer and Technology Advisor

Key Role:

Immerse yourself in cutting-edge technologies while serving as a strategic technical consultant to the Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) and other energy clients. Create next-generation energy technologies related to high-power, high-frequency RF power electronics devices by leading the design, evaluation, and management of government-sponsored Research and Development (R&D) programs. Broaden your skill set in areas such as WBG and UWBG semiconductors and amplifiers, RF receivers and transmitters, matching networks, technologies for beamforming, and other supporting components that would enable the development of efficient wireless power transfer technologies. Engage and collaborate with a diverse group of technology experts to leverage rapidly maturing technology from other sectors to create next-generation wireless power transfer technologies. Transform the energy, agricultural, and mining sectors.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences on research about high-power, high-frequency RF power electronics devices
  • Experience in research with RF power amplifiers, RF system transceiver design and analysis, and RF propagation and antenna systems
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering

Additional Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience in postdoctoral, academic, or industry roles about amplifiers, RF receivers, rectennas, transmitters, matching networks, or technologies for beamforming
  • Experience in a consulting or advisory role
  • Knowledge of the WBG and UWBG semiconductor device physics
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness when dealing with uncertainty and ask insightful questions that challenge traditional thinking
  • Possession of excellent organizational, client service, and analytical skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
