Reliability Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Develop and apply methodologies and techniques to analyze preliminary engineering-design concepts of naval vessels or C5I components to recommend design or test methods for attaining customer-specified operational reliability, using knowledge of reliability engineering and other technologies. Analyze preliminary plans and develop reliability engineering programs to achieve customer reliability objectives. Draft failure mode and effect critical analysis (FMECA) sheets, or formulate mathematical models, using computer-aided engineering equipment, to identify key failure modes and support proposed changes in design. Simulate electrical inputs, transient conditions, temperature, stress, and other factors to develop computer models, and analyze and adjust design to predict and improve system reliability. Advise and confer with engineers in design review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations. Review engineering specifications and drawings, proposing design modifications to improve reliability within cost and other performance requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering activities on large-scale DoD acquisition programs
  • Experience with reliability test planning, scoring and results analysis, failure reporting and corrective action system (FRACAS), and reliability maintainability improvement program (RMIP)
  • Knowledge of reliability modeling tools, such as ReliaSoft and TIGER
  • Ability to conduct fault tree analysis
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in EE or ME

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with U.S. Navy platforms and combat systems, surface and air–launched weapons, C4I, Sensor, and Electronic Warfare systems
  • Knowledge of Condition Based Maintenance
  • Possession of strong initiative and interpersonal skills, including writing detailed reports and effectively preparing and giving presentations
  • Master’s degree in EE, Systems Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • Certified Reliability Engineer Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
