Surface Ship Modernization Manager, Senior

The Challenge:

From both a personnel and systems perspective, the US Navy is growing fast. As a Surface Ship Modernization Planning Manager, you will provide our clients with big picture strategic ideas rooted in technical and data-driven solutions, using experienced management and communication skills to keep a ship program on the path to success during the modernization planning execution phase. You will lead the charge to directly facilitate the implementation of life cycle program management to support project decision making and analyzing program costs, schedules, and performance. You will have a direct finger on the pulse of the client's policies, guidelines, and procedures required to ensure quality and cost control across major program offices. You will juggle projects and timelines and connect with clients and sailors around the world to work collaboratively to improve communication and workflow. You thrive on autonomy and are eager to grow your management skills across the acquisition, program management, and logistics spectrum.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience with naval ship modernization planning and execution
  • Experience with Navy Class Maintenance plans and the Navy Modernization Process Management and Operations Manual (NMP-MOM)
  • Experience with the installation, maintenance, and overhaul of integrated systems of materials, machinery, and equipment
  • Experience with monitoring a ship’s 3M health through data mining techniques and PMS completion data
  • Knowledge of USN acquisition processes, including regulations, directives, and statutes, USN application of the DoD acquisition process, and key naval ship acquisition roles and organizations
  • Ability to comprehend contract documentation, read contract data, and apply expertise in the Navy's financial tools
  • Active Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • BA or BS degree in engineering or related field preferred; MA or MS degree a plus
  • PMP or DAWIA Level 1, 2, or 3 Certifications
