The Opportunity:

As a system administrator, you’ll have the chance to build your expertise and solve technical problems in a fast-paced and Agile environment. We’re looking for someone like you to help develop, implement, and maintain customer-focused IT solutions in support of our warfighters.

As a cyber tools and system administrator on our team, you’ll collaborate to develop innovative solutions to enable secure and reliable operations of enterprise computer systems. You’ll work individually or in a small integrated team, and may lead a task, project, or team. You’ll ensure project completion and provide guidance and direction to lower-level technicians, specialists, and managers. You’ll develop new concepts and processes and analyze root causes and resolve complex issues using your full knowledge of the industry. You'll perform systems administration of cyber tools sets and server systems connected to networks across multiple classification domains. You'll provide support to developmental and operational systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client, server, storage, and network devices. You'll configure and manage Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems and back-end databases. You will install and load application software, including DoD Endpoint Security Suite and Solution (ESS), Host-based Security System and Solution, Splunk and Cribl, and ACAS and network security tools, including Firewalls and ForeScout. You’ll support Windows and Linux systems engineering efforts in system design and evaluation, solution engineering, software development, or system administration.

You Have: 

  • 5+ years of experience as a systems administrator

  • Experience with installing, configuring, or maintaining devices, applications, and security tools, such as DoD Endpoint Security Solution (ESS) formerly (HBSS), ForeScout, Splunk and Cribl, Palo Alto Firewalls, or backend databases

  • Experience with automating deployments or configuration management of cybersecurity tools operations

  • Experience with DoD Risk Management Framework

  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

  • HS diploma or GED and 12+ years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities, Associate’s degree and 10+ years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities, Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities, or Master’s degree and 6+ years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities

  • DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification, including Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP, or CND

  • DoD 8570.01-M Cybersecurity Service Provider - Infrastructure Support Certification, including CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience as a network administrator or systems engineer

  • Experience with operating and maintaining Microsoft Windows and Linux servers

  • Experience with Gigamon, Trellix and FireEye, Ansible, Encase, Fidelis, Suricata, Varonis, or VMWare tools

  • Experience with scripting in PowerShell and BASH command line interfaces

  • Experience with Cloud Enterprise, authorizing cloud systems, and Cloud services, including AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Experience with using Active Directory to manage Windows policies

  • Experience with creating system and network diagrams

  • Knowledge of different layers of the technology stack, including network, application frameworks, database systems, and vendor solutions

  • Knowledge of Git and Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence and Microsoft Visio graphic and flowchart design

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
