As a senior AWS Cloud Migration Engineer, you possess the expertise to guide clients through their journey from on-premises infrastructure to the AWS cloud. In this role, you'll lead our team of specialists, utilizing AWS's cutting-edge services to help clients modernize and migrate their applications, addressing their most challenging business objectives.
As a key leader on our team, you'll architect, implement, and manage AWS cloud environments, designing optimal migration strategies for our clients' diverse application portfolios. This position offers the chance to apply industry-leading methodologies and technologies, including AWS-native services, containerization, serverless architectures, and advanced analytics capabilities like Amazon SageMaker for AI/ML workloads.
You'll work cross-functionally to ensure seamless application migrations, covering all aspects including compute, storage, networking, databases, security, and AWS-specific services. With access to our internal AWS environments and resources, you'll have the opportunity to explore innovative solutions to our clients' migration challenges. You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders and guide your team in delivering tailored AWS migration solutions that align with best practices and Well-Architected Framework principles.

You Have:
6+ years of experience with cloud migration, including AWS
3+ years of experience managing large-scale AWS migration projects in enterprise environments
Experience in supporting cloud migration projects for DoD clients, including managing stakeholder expectations and navigating complex security requirements
Experience with AWS services, such as AWS Application Migration Service, AWS Database Migration Service, or AWS Server Migration Service
Experience managing migrations to AWS GovCloud (US) and working within compliance frameworks, including FedRAMP
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and AWS-specific project management tools
Knowledge of AWS migration strategies, infrastructure design, and security best practices
Ability to obtain Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology and 4+ years of experience in IT, or 8+ years of experience in IT in lieu of a degree
Ability to obtain a DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification, including Security+ or CASP+ Certification, within 60 days of start date
Nice If You Have:
Experience working with C-level executives and key stakeholders on AWS migration initiatives
Experience with complementary technologies like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for infrastructure as code in AWS
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Amazon ECS, or Amazon EKS
Knowledge of AWS-specific financial management tools, such as AWS Cost Explorer and AWS Budgets
Ability to manage multiple complex AWS migration projects simultaneously
Possession of analytical skills with a focus on optimizing workloads for AWS
AWS Specialty certifications, such as AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty or AWS Certified Security - Specialty Certification
AWS Professional level certifications, such as Professional AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Professional AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
