Cyber Engineer

Key Role:

Cyber threats are everywhere, and the constantly evolving nature of these threats can make understanding them seem overwhelming. In all of this “cyber noise,” how can these organizations understand their risks and how to mitigate them? The answer is you—an information security risk specialist who will break down complex threats into manageable plans of action.

As a Cyber Network Engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience to support U.S. Southern Command to conduct security reviews of network diagrams and topologies, architecture diagrams, and associated Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts to proactively discover security issues prior to implementation. You'll discover their cyber risks, understand applicable policies, and develop a mitigation plan. You’ll review technical documentation and artifacts to assess a system and network for potential security issues, document potential courses of action to support resolution, and submit findings to the appropriate party. Then, you’ll guide your client through a plan of action with presentations, white papers, and milestones.

You’ll work with your client to translate security concepts, develop technical briefs for senior leaders and executives that can explain complex technical information concisely and accurately. You'll also collect information or intelligence necessary to conduct the full scale of your responsibilities as an information security subject matter expert.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a professional work environment
  • Experience with planning, designing, and overseeing deployment of complex enterprise-wide or large-scale information architectures including computer hardware and software, operating systems, middleware, communications hardware and software, and security components
  • Experience with responding to requests for assistance from the Network Security Operations (NSO) and Cyber teams
  • Experience with policies, instructions, standards, guides, and requirements, validating that systems reviewed are compliant, and identify for system owners where they are not
  • Ability to identify necessary interfaces between enterprise solution applications and legacy IT environments
  • Ability to support all program and project planning and milestone development
  • Ability to support business case analysis and identification of alternative solutions and resulting business impacts
  • Ability to develop technical briefs for senior leaders and executives that can explain complex technical information concisely and accurately
  • Secret clearance
