The Opportunity:

With so much relying on complex systems, a skilled systems administrator can be the difference that makes a project successful. We’re looking for a Systems Administrator with a solid background in installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, triage, and hardening in both unique hardware and the AWS Cloud to help us develop sustainable business solutions across the intelligence community.

As a Systems Administrator on our project, you’ll constantly look for ways to make the infrastructure better using the latest technology and the best implementation strategies. You’ll learn how to design, deploy, and configure web infrastructure components. You’ll analyze problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network. You’ll be able to combine your technical experience with communication skills as you turn metrics into information and communicate their meaning. This is an opportunity to gain experience in Cloud resources within AWS. We focus on growing as a team, so we’ll share techniques, work through challenges, and develop new methodologies together. You Have:

  • Experience with deploying, configuring, and maintaining Linux server systems
  • Experience with designing, developing, deploying, or testing in the cloud
  • Experience with implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining systems while isolating and resolving problems, including the applications, operating systems, communications, or infrastructure
  • Experience with providing systems and account administration consistent with system requirements
  • Experience with providing support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers 
  • Ability to support shift work
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • HS diploma or GED and 7+ years of experience in IT, Associate's degree and 5+ years of experience in IT, or Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in IT
  • Ability to obtain a Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification within 6 months of start date

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with network devices, including firewall administration
  • Knowledge of trouble ticketing systems and processes
  • Knowledge of government security practices and policies
  • Ability to navigate problems quickly and route issues to proper priority
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment
  • Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
