Maritime Operations Specialist

As a Maritime Operations Specialist, you'll provide senior-level support to planning and executing maritime operations. You will help translate strategic objectives into operational-level planning and tasking for tactical-level planning, execution, and reporting across all domains in joint, service, and coalition environments. You will also lead Maritime Operations efforts to organize, schedule, collaborate, task, and monitor key actions and milestones. Additionally, you will develop exercise scenarios, assist in debriefs of exercises, events, and activities, and provide expertise on tactical and operational-level joint, coalition, and service doctrine.

You Have: 

  • 10+ years of experience supporting U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps operations
  • 3+ years of experience working on a four-star level Staff supporting joint operational planning, security cooperation planning, command and control, intelligence, fires, movement and maneuver, or protection and sustainment
  • 3+ years of experience overseeing the execution of Maritime Operations Center (MOC) processes, functions, and tasks at the operational level of war
  • Knowledge of theater strategy, plans, authorities, and maritime constructs such as MOC, Joint Force Maritime Component Command, Large-Scale Exercises, Fleet Battle Problems, and distributed maritime operations
  • Ability to provide senior-level perspective on operational-level of war (OLW) strategy, plans, security cooperation, partner training, command and control, intelligence, fires, movement and maneuver, or protection and sustainment
  • Ability to develop schedules, plans of action and milestones, and other products for headquarters staff planning, coordination, collaboration, and presentation
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have: 

  • Ability to provide senior-level analysis to support maritime operations C2 for U.S. and coalition organizations, including major and numbered fleets commands, naval component commands, and joint force maritime component commands
  • Ability to lead efforts to organize, schedule, collaborate, task, and monitor key actions and milestones for operational planning teams, cross-functional teams, and MOC processes in support of operations, exercises, and the joint exercise life cycle, and develop, implement, and synchronize task forces in operational and exercise environments
  • Ability to facilitate MOC participation in exercises and other maritime events to ensure readiness for theater operations, including analyzing master scenario event lists, operation plans, operations orders, and directives from higher headquarters, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other organizations
  • Ability to develop synthetic exercise scenarios in accordance with current naval, joint, and coalition doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures, and forward-deployed numbered fleet requirements in an operational-level warfare environment
  • Ability to assist in debriefing maritime operations and OLW exercises, events, and activities, using appropriate campaign plans and orders, and assessment metrics such as measures of effectiveness, measures of performance, indicators, and navy task lists
  • Ability to provide expertise on applicable tactical and operational-level joint, coalition, and service doctrine, describe capability requirements through an operational lens to the security assistance enterprise and program management offices, and facilitate the generation of creative solutions, describing how proposed security assistance items meet defined capability requirements
  • Ability to assist with generating operational-level warfare concept of operations or concept of employment, prepare flag-level briefs, white papers, and other documentation related to plans, operations, and events, and identify and document relevant doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, facilities, and policy issues, and recommend improvements to benefit the warfighter
  • TS/SCI clearance

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
