Enterprise Cybersecurity Core Architect

The Opportunity: 

The Booz Allen Hamilton Core Enterprise consists of all Corporate IT managed networks, hosts, identities, applications and data. In this role, you will develop, oversee implementation, and promote comprehensive cybersecurity architectures for cloud-based, on-premise, and hybrid environments. Additionally you will integrate cybersecurity designs for systems and networks with multilevel security requirements or requirements for the processing of multiple classification levels of data primarily applicable to government organizations and document and address Booz Allen’s information security, cybersecurity architecture, and systems security engineering requirements throughout the acquisition life cycle. you will insure that acquired or developed system and architectures are consistent with Booz Allen's cybersecurity architecture guidelines and evaluate security architectures and designs to determine the adequacy of security design and architecture proposed or provided in response to requirements.

As the Lead responsible for the cyber architecture of Booz Allen Hamilton’s Core Enterprise cybersecurity capabilities, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's security landscape. To excel in this position, you must facilitate proactive collaboration with cross-functional teams, identify Core Environment cybersecurity risks, and promote Booz Allen Hamilton’s converged technological security strategy. You'll investigate new techniques, break free from the legacy model, and go where the industry is going and, as a team, take a critical approach to cybersecurity architecture, providing alternatives and customizing solutions to maintain a balance of security and mission needs. These efforts will drive the future security roadmap for Booz Allen Hamilton’s cybersecurity stack, cyber-control implementation projects, and Zero Trust strategy. You will implement the Core Enterprise cybersecurity strategic direction, which you helped define with the Director of Cyber Architecture and Engineering. Your responsibilities will include leading risk evaluations, cyber capability gap analyses, solution option evaluations, and providing cyber consulting guidance related to system, network, application, and security architectures. Additionally, you will create security standards, best practices, and corporate cybersecurity policies and reference architectures.

You'll be preforming security capability reviews based on industry-grounded security stack philosophies and standards will be a key part of your role. You will have primary responsibility for leading Zero Trust architecture and design efforts in collaboration with other Enterprise IT experts, providing an integrated security ecosystem to deter, detect, defend, and respond to business-impacting security, operational security, and risk issues.

You will communicate and participate in coordinating response and defensive actions across various security disciplines, disseminating technical information as appropriate to support Booz Allen Hamilton's critical business, go-to-market, and operational infrastructure needs. Additionally, the ability to accurately and simply codify cyber architectures within written Standards and Reference Architectures is crucial for success. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in specialization in two of the following capability towers, such as network engineering, device or endpoint engineering, identity engineering, application development, or data management

  • 3+ years of experience with cybersecurity architecture, cyber solution security design, strategies, and risk management

  • Experience in the cybersecurity solution, such as tools, processes, or industry leaders for landscape based on the specialized capability towers

  • Knowledge of key cyber threats, including nation state actors, malware or ransomware, command and control infrastructures and mitigations based on the specialized capability towers

  • Knowledge of key cyber processes, such as security incident handling, risk posture measurement and change management 

  • Ability to design, deploy, and maintain cybersecurity or capability tower architectures in enterprise class organizations 

  • Ability to collaborate with confidence and credibility to effectively engage and interact with technologists and leaders across the enterprise

  • Ability to quickly comprehend complex problems, draw logical conclusions, make sound decisions, develop solutions, and drive closure 

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience working in the cyber industry or 15+ years of experience working in the cyber industry in lieu of a degree 

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with building complex, multi-service IT architectures 

  • Experience with a programming or scripting languages

  • Knowledge of the use of databases for reporting, including SQL language 

  • Knowledge of the applications of Artificial Intelligence in security 

  • IT Architecture Certifications or CISSP Certifications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
